Reach Inside

Reach inside, and look through my eyes
A vision of sadness and pain.
A life of longing, of bleeding hearts,
In a world upside down and insane.

Reach inside, and look to my heart,
A vision of wanting lost dreams.
A life full of pieces, and long hours lost,
but nothing is quite what it seems.

Reach inside, and look to my mind,
A vision of chaos with light unshown.
The child left crying, with questions untold,
But now that child is grown.

Reach inside, now see who I am
A vision of beauty and grace.
A grown woman with many masks,
to hide the feelings not shown on my face.

But that is what life is all about
trials with mountains to climb.
Forging ahead to a better life,
while leaving the child behind.
