Life and Death

The clock ticks,
He's still there.
Another man,
Trapped in his homemade hell.

His body he wounded,
His mind tainted and frail.
Pride still his ruler
His soul locked in his cell

Dreams no longer fake,
Reality no longer real.
Death upon his lap,
Life he can no longer feel.

The clock ticks once more,
His breath now cold and rancid.
His body now matching the cornflower,
Left upon his casket.
