There was a time
I thought I couldn't go on
The stars had stopped shining
and the moon had fallen

My heart had been broken
All my tears had been shed
All beauty diminished
Nothing was left

Then in my darkest hours
You came to me
Opened your arms
and helped me to see

The world hadn't changed
The sky hadn't fallen
The birds were still singing
And the sun was still shining

You showered me
With your soft spoken words
Then wrapped me up
In the love of a friend

We sat and we talked
Your words like a salve
Filling the spaces
Where my heart had been wounded

One day I looked up
I opened my eyes
I saw that our friendship
Was really love in disguise

Now my Strength has returned
I found life after death
You reached out and showed me
I still had strength left
