In the End

I wasn't the winner
In this so called game.
I turned out to be the loser
Shrouded, covered in my shame.

I thought if I was quiet
If I didn't make a sound.
I thought if I was beautiful
He would have wanted me around.

It seemed I was always fighting
Mostly fighting to be free.
Or was I fighting to hold on?
And for him to notice me?

It didn't matter in the end
I had to let him go.
I had to walk away from everything
And fly into the unknown.
