Known as Midsummer, Litha, or St. John's Day, the Summer Solstice occurs
in the middle of June. This marks the beginning of Summer and is when we
celebrate the longest day of the year. Since ancient times it has been a grand
tribal gathering time, it is a festival of community sharing and planetary
service. During the Summer Solstice the Goddess manifests as Mother Earth
and the God as the Sun King.
